Luke 22:31-34, Isaiah 6:1-9, Job 1:7-11

From a very young age we are taught to subtract and add. Subtraction usually means a result that is lesser than the original number. Addition usually means a greater result than the original number. Whilst this makes sense mathematically, God does something spiritually that doesn’t logically add up.

As we observe Scripture, we see that God allows and even orchestrates times when He takes away in order to add to our lives. This seems counterintuitive, but it’s a principle observable in Scripture and plays out in our lives.
