The first Christmas was a lesson in how to deal with unexpected news and how the faithful respond to it. You see, life is full of surprises. The nature of man is that we are limited in our understanding and we know not what tomorrow holds. Mary and Joseph had to deal with the reality that their plans weren’t going the way they wanted it and that this announcement meant that they were going to have to trust God.
