Southland Baptist Church is known for friendliness and generosity towards our guests and visitors. Within these premises many will continue to come and hear the Gospel of salvation, many will be saved, baptised and be established in the Faith. It is important therefore that the house of God be kept clean and comfortable as we gather together to worship and magnify God’s most holy name. To show our reverence and service to God and to keep our testimony to the community we are trying to reach with the Gospel, we must keep our premises not only clean and comfortable, but also safe and well maintained.

And let them deliver it into the hand of the doers of the work, that have the oversight of the house of the LORD: and let them give it to the doers of the work which is in the house of the LORD, to repair the breaches of the house. Unto carpenters, and builders, and masons, and to buy timber and hewn stone to repair the house.
2 Kings 22:6

Here's what you can expect if you join the maintenance ministry:

Weekly cleaning of the Church Auditorium, rooms and offices and bathrooms (Please note that if you sign up, you will be included in a Team and rostered to clean for about 7 -8 Saturdays in a year)

Maintenance of the grounds and gardens
Minor repairs around the property
Minor electrical maintenance (e.g.,changing of lightbulbs)
Minor plumbing jobs in the Kitchen and bathrooms ·
Preparation of the Lord’s Table elements
Preparation of Baptismal
Maintain supply inventory of cleaning and bathroom items
Assist with the preparation for major church events
Assist in Working Bee events
